My first Orr wine is their Old Vine Chenin Blanc from Columbia Valley. 40 y.o. Vines, 380 cases, ABV 12%. Showing nice complexity but I’m going to wait a while longer before opening the others.

Elegant Chenin. Soft texture. Neutral oak. Low alcohol. Went great with gochujang marinated chicken.

Pale white, excellent clarity. Floral, citrus and stone fruit notes in nose. Grapefruit, apple flavors with length and a hint of pear, dry, beautiful mouthfeel, good acid, mineral finish. Bring on the new year!

Dry, minerally, superior. Austere but varietally true. 380 cases. Perfect for seafood.

380 cases, new vintage. Light yellow, excellent clarity. Not much aroma, floral and orchard fruit, perhaps, but great flavor length - peach, apple, citrus with a mineral finish. Some viscosity, rounded mouthfeel with light skin astringency frisson, ooh. It has what an old vine Chenin Blanc should have: complexity and character. Very fresh and lively, good acidity and flavor.

Pale yellow, excellent clarity. White floral and stone fruit. Lemon pith, grapefruit rind, nectarine and orchard fruit flavors. Mineral lactic finish with slight skin astringency. A lot of varietal expression going on here!

320 cases. Golden yellow, excellent clarity. Apple and aromas, orange lemon and pear flavors, fine skin astringency finish. Suave version, good acid for food there as well. Rich finish.

Revisiting vintage. Great flavor profile, rounded mouthfeel. Matched well with our meal of stir fry veggies and brown rice.
