A breathtaking view of NY from our balcony was joined by Orin Swift's extravagant Palermo.
It's a brute which lacks finesse, but it makes up for its shortcomings with power of fruit, length and opulence. A great one-night-stand.

Oh my, this is a bigger monster than the 10.
On the nose, the wine explodes with raspberry compote, pomegranate and barrel toast. On the palette, the wine is urgent. It's primal with 15.5% alc. It's fleshy with bold tannins. Finishes with notes of coffee, caramel and dark raspberries. Paradoxically, this needs food. Better still, leave it for 18 months to evolve from its angry phase. On reflection, I think the 10 was better due to the additional bottle age.
Day 2 - Going to stick with the same score, but the wine has relaxed a little. Still a little heat on the backend from this high octane fuel!

As usual, this wine is great. Not the best wine I've had by him or the company but very solid. Still a little pricey for what it is though.
