Did a sort of father/son tasting with these two ‘16 Bedrock wines. Despite the Bedrock heritage having less zin for sure (couldn’t find percentages on the o & f but it’s listed as a zin), and subtle differences in winemaking, these were fairly similar. Not sure what they were like when young, but they were claret style and not showing a ton of fruit in comparison to a firm structure. These may be in an in between phase. I’d hold for a bit.

This is one of the best Zins I've drunk. Great balance of fruit & dirt. Great Zins, like this, drink like a very fine claret, just as one of my good friends said.

Closed nose. Weighty wine with lots of heat and big tannins now. Flavors are pushed back because of the tannins. Give it time.
