2017; Mother's Day 2022.

Raiding the wine cooler at my parent's house. Many bottles we've gifted them over the years sit patiently, as they barely drink wine anymore... 🤷🏻‍♂️

This bottle is in a great zone, the inexpensive '17 Burgundy blanc's are quite enjoyable now.

Vidal Fleury was founded in 1781 by Joseph Vidal functioning as the oldest winery in the Rhone Valley. A blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, dark red with aromas of black fruits and subtle floral scents. On the palate beautiful red berry fruits with cacao and spice. Soft tannins showing maturity, lingering ending with a good hold on the fruit and spice. Very nice, great to drink now.

Olivier Leflaive was formed in 1984 by Olivier and his brother Patrick. Pale yellow with stone fruit aromas and toasty spice notes. On the palate ripe fruits with oak notes and tangy spice. Medium+ length, lively acidity ending with a crisp character. It’s tasting great now. Tasting Sample.

Excellent QPR Village wine.

2014 generous and reductive. Concentrated notes of lemon balm, green apple and rainwater

A beautiful wine and value in French Chardonnay for under $20. Lots of lemon and creamy mouthfeel.

Lots of minerality, almost "funky" (in a good way)

Shows the purity and almost weightless character of 2014 white Burg.

Meyer lemon, lime zest, green apple, underripe pineapple, citrus blooms, white and yellow florals, crushed rock, saline, strong minerality on the long dry finish and crisp acidity. Good value in bourgogne level burgundy.

Great example of a renowned wine maker taking village level seriously - because his name is on the label.
