Nose reveals; sour lemons, green apple, golden apple, overripe pineapple, lime, tropical melons, dried mango, orange citrus with rind, candle wax, honeycomb, dark, gritty volcanics, sea fossils, white spice, crisp chalkiness, sandstone, dry stones, lemon pledge, some fresh herbs, vanillin, more woody notes than I’ve come to expect from Olivier, orange blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies framed in jasmine.

The body is rich, lush, gluey & full. High viscosity. Nice structure, tension, length and balance. Just a little more oak than I like on my White Burgundies. sour lemons, green apple, golden apple, overripe pineapple, lime candy/zest, tropical melons, dried mango, cream that evolves into cream brûlée late in the bottle, butterscotch as it fully opens, orange citrus with rind, candle wax, some butter/buttered popcorn, honeycomb, biscuits, dark, gritty volcanics with some sharpness on the palate, sea fossils, white spice, crisp chalkiness, sandstone, dry stones, lemon pledge, some fresh herbs, vanillin, leaner caramel notes, more woody notes than I’ve come to expect from Olivier, strong florals...orange blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies framed in jasmine. Nice round acidity. The finish is well textured & polished and persists minutes.

Photos of our April 2015 visit/lunch. Their tasting room and restaurant in the center of town, our cold morning walk through their Puligny-Montrachet Vineyard, our cellar walk & talk with Olivier Leflaive and lunch in their restaurant & tasting room.

This is a complete sell out wine. Expected more from this producer. Way over Oaked. Big barrel ferment character. What a shame would have loved to see what is underneath that poorly used oak.

Not sure why the low ratings, maybe others drank too early? Slightly gold hue but pretty translucent. Minerality and apples dominate, with hints of plastic. No oak what so ever. Got better over an hour. Medium plus depth and medium finish. I love wines from the St. Aubin region. Didn’t knock my socks off but really good. Another 2-5yrs might really help.

Wet stone and generous citrus. Not extremely complex but pleasant.

Pineapple and a bit of rubber on the nose. Spicy mango taste. Started with good acidity but then just became too much. Perhaps tannins too high as it had a very dry mouth finish which increased as we drank the bottle. Disappointing.

Lovely balance . Honey, nougat, white stone fruit. Soft acid line. Holding its own after 9 year and great with chilli Tuna Carpaccio. Won't write poetry for you but is very enjoyable.

Yummy wine. Mineral driven, great mouthful and was perfect with calamari, tuna carpaccio and morten bay bugs. 91 points
