Came across as very young. Beautiful rich nose, but didn't quite follow on the palate, which had a bit of a hole in it. Still, a really enjoyable wine.

Pale greenish gold. Moderate aroma intensity. Mineral, citrus. Evident acidity, dry. The wine is young and flavors are closed lacking depth. Needs 2-3 more years in cellar. Average age of the vines 35 years. Champ Gain (regained field) name comes from the fields recovered from the forest, then planted with vines. The soil is brown limestone. Champ Gain 1er Cru wines of Puligny-Montrachet are light and elegant, with vibrant minerality and floral, citrusy flavors.
Rating 3,9/5

1995 vintage. Les Champs Gains. Medium lemon hue. Medium plus concentration of stone fruits - peach in syrup. Honeyed. Wood is subtle but evident. On the palate, medium acidity, medium plus body, medium alcohol and medium plus finish. Quite plush and textural. Slightly lacking in concentration. Decent. Drink now until 2020+

Delicious on a hot beach day. Light stone fruit. Nice balanced acidity.
