Red Silk Shiraz

Every market trip, I take a flyer on a small producer. This one is a good QPR producer. Stuart is the Owner/Winemaker and is not flashy, very straight forward and salt of the earth. His wines are nicely made and at a very good price point. I think this is $20 in the US. Ripe, ruby, big lush, blackberries, dark chocolate, black licorice, dark cherries, deep medium intensity spices on the nose. Blackberries black raspberries, black plum, warm spices of; clove, cinnamon & nutmeg, mocha, black pepper, underbrush, stem inclusion, medium plus tannins, slightly tarry, good acidity and a very nice quality long finish for $20.

Super ripe red and black fruit, firm tannin, long finish. Nice medium acid makes it pop.

Very deep purple color. On the nose black plum and currant with some spices. On the palate it is full bodied with ripe black berry and pepper flavors.

Has undeniable Aussie Shiraz backbone - ridiculous QPR at 16$ - on par with most Two Hands ...still prefer northern Rhone tho

This wine wants a steak or rich mushroom bouillabaisse. Pepper, blackberry. Hello, autumn!

It had its moments. But I didn't love it.

Give it 30 minutes after opening and t is delicious.
