While this is not the best wine so far, I really love this producer. Very ripe and round-soft. It juicy on the palate. Blackberries, black raspberries, purple fruits, poached strawberries, dry soils, black licorice to anise, used leather, dark fruit cola, beautiful dark spice, coffee grounds, dry stems, violet, dark flowers and lavender.

Finally getting around to posting Day 5 in Napa, our final day. 5 years in a row visiting...hope to make it 6 next year!

A wonderful wine, with room for score improvement over the next few years. Signature SLD to me. Mocha, dark cocoa, blackberry pie and a streak of ripe/rich red fruit down the middle. Dusty. Cinnamon and baking spice finish. Very good.

Last blind red for my father’s 53rd birthday. We tried four 2014s, two were Cabernet Sauvignons and two were Bordeaux Blends.

Completely coats the glass, dark purplish red. Super dark and rich on the nose with baking spices, black fruits, gravel, and dark chocolate. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Tight and rough palate to start. After a 3.5 hr decant it started to open up nicely with a layered richness. Notes of black currants, berries, cinnamon, dark cocoa and spices. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2037.

Loved the tension this wine has. My first time trying this bottle. Won’t be the last.

Didn't think Stag's Leap should go this big but WOW. What a stunner. Lush fruit meets SLD's graphite minerality. A great spice complex adds an even greater depth of character.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a powerhouse. It needs time to come together, as the elements are a bit disjointed, but there is a ton of potential, that much is clear. Dark blue/purplish berry fruit, spice, lavender, chocolate and white flowers abound. I would prefer to cellar the 2018 for a few years to allow the tannins to soften. Dark chocolate, dark berry, licorice, hints of mint, tannic, and vibrant. Dense and weighty. More old school structured than new. It's a 👶 and needs time to unfurl its goods.

Beautiful red and black fruit, cardamom spice, subtle oak, follows up with tertiary leather notes. Quite well put together.
