Oakville Winery Napa Valley Red Wine 2021, California

It is time for my
#FridayCabernetfix.

Purple in color with a short purplish rim.

Fruity nose with blue and black fruits, cedar and licorice.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing black cherries, currants, black plums, light cedar, earth, spices, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 3-year-old, Cabernet sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley, is still very young, but already drinking very nicely. Fruit forward and elegant.

At this point, the Malbec seems to overpower the rest of the grapes. Tangy and spicy.

Needs 3 years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

This Single Vineyard needed 5 hours to open up, so be patient.

A good quality wine that will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, 14% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels. A small production of less than 500 cases.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$50.
