Very pale yellow. Lime and other citrus - leaner than I prefer in a good Chardonnay. Fermented in 500 litre puncheons (no overt oak influence) and extended lees contact. Great winemaking as we have come to expect from Dave Bicknell but riper fruit would be preferred from this taster. Good QPR.

Lovely nose of peach, Asian pear, green apple, lemon, hint of flint and roasted nuts. Quite viscous on the palate, richer than the ‘19 I can remember - or any other chards from the winery I’ve tasted. Excellent intensity and purity still with beautiful acidity.

Compared to the 2021 Willowlake, this is a tad richer and less tart, so I prefer this marginally tonight, but both of these Oakridge Chardonnays are super clean and well made!!

Deft touch of new oak surrounds the crisp apple and lemon notes in this lovely balanced Chardonnay, long, lingering finish, really fine!!

I’m so glad to see selected Oakridge wines are now available in the U.S.
Very aromatic. Citrus, starfruit, gala apple, light mint, and a whiff of roasted nuts on the nose. Vibrant fruits with light spices on the softly textured palate. Long saline finish.
At a very reasonable price - lower than I paid in Australia if my memory serves right, this would be a good intro to the this fantastic winery.

N: lemon cream, apples, stone
P: very crisp w a hint of cream. Lemon and crisp apples, a bit of pepper shows up as well.
Lean but with a bit of leesy texture, and lots of acidity,

Starting a new phase of development, showing some hints of nougat along with faint struck match, leading to green apple, lime and stone fruit. It’s softened since last tasting, almost an in between phase before the secondary richness develops further.

Definitely not a shy wine, this one. Plenty of stone fruit on the palate, following a struck match, citrus and apple nose and then ending with a focussed, lingering citrus line. Yum.
