A really good Yarra Valley Chardonnay - similar notes to recent tasting in June 2021. Leesy struck match notes with a combination of citrus and stone fruit on the palate. Skilfully made.

Smoky, savoury, and spicy nose, some oak and a leesy sulphidic note. On the palate mainly citrus but a little riper verging on to stone fruit. One of David Bicknell’s lesser Cuvées which I thought would be lean but not so. Coming together at 6 years of age. Drinking really well from one of Australia’s best Chardonnay exponents.

Made in the typical Oakridge style, zesty citrus fruits, clean acid line, oak providing length and intensity to the flavours, but not weighing down the wine in the least. People who wrinkle their noses, and say, "I hate Chardonnay" should buy a bottle of this and shut their mouths. Or not, then there's more for me!

Delicious. Nougat, stone fruit, grapefruit and a little toast. Clean and focussed. Puckering finish.

Good modern style. Stone fruits, grapefruit, some lemon and a little flinty minerality. It might have been the scorching hot day but I was hoping for a little more acidity. It was by no means flabby but it wasn't as fresh as I was hoping. Then again it might have been the fact the glass was warming up way too fast in the heat.

Very pale lemon. Very little aroma. Strident structure, touch of flint, minerally, austere. A no fun wine. Maybe too much oak. Made for the judges.

Restrained style. Citrus fruit nose with some pear and green apple. Reductive character. Balanced and lengthy palate.
