Oak Grove
Family Reserve Shiraz
Color of burgundy with hue of bloody grapefruit, quite clear and lighter compared to traditional Shiraz. Nose of coffee, aldehyde, cherry, a bit raspberry, cigar box, and ripe grapes. Taste of ample acidity plus sweetness form strawberry, a bit zesty, a bit salty indeed, medicinal syrup, and some more grapes. Aftertaste shows more zest, oak, and peppery note. Light, sweet, yet with good flavors. Interesting different kinds of Shiraz.

1 person found it helpfulSep 19th, 2020I rarely dislike a wine, but this was terrible. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but it was like no shiraz I’ve ever had. Very light in color, almost with an effervescence. Had an off putting metallic vinegar taste. No amount of breathing made this better. Not for me. Pass.

Apr 24th, 2021Really enjoyed it. Smooth rich mouth feel. Blueberry undertone, peppery finish. Will look to buy it again

Apr 10th, 2017Jam on it, jam on it, jam jam jam on it.
This is a very ripe, very classic hotel wine of a petit sirah. Jammy, inky and oily, large sweet fruit mouthfeel. Really a good wine to follow up my Hatch green child stew. Don't think I would drink this on its own.

This is actually a merlot. It is dry with a smooth full taste.
