Privat Senftenberger Piri Grüner Veltliner

Sadly not up to the other bottle in this lot. This was a leaker, and sadly showing far too much oxidation even for its age.

Showing quite fresh and lively, with Seville marmalade, quince, white tea and sandy minerals. A little pea pod and kerosene on the finish. Juicy acidity and texture. Awesome bottle that may have another 15 years or so ahead of it.

needed 2 hours to open up. amazing.

Beautiful light gold color that has changed little since release, lovely mouth-filling apricot and honeysuckle with a touch of slate balanced by pretty good acidity and just a touch of bitterness on the finish. It is aging glacially but well.

Incredible wine. From magnum. Honey, beeswax, incredible salty minerality on the finish.

Found the nose somewhat muted.
Taut in the mouth but could not coax much flavor out of it. The finish showed some heat.
