Neyers Ranch - Conn Valley Merlot

Very full bodied and high acidity. It is almost hard to imagine this wine without a good meal. Definitely needs to be paired with heavy rarer meats. I liked it OK, a little over bearing on the palatte and a little too sour. Not a good balance in flavor imo

2011 from Magnum: easy drinking and clean but nothing special.

Nice well balanced Napa merlot - dark fruit & chocolate & turned earth

Reminding me how good Merlot can be

My kind of merlot: dark fruit and savory dried herbs/earth, with fine tannins and texture. Drinking well now, but will only improve with cellaring.

Pretty good. Probably should've opened a year or two ago.

Higher acid, moderate tannins, lovely texture. A little on the sweet side, but still tasty. Paired really well with steak, enjoyed it less on its own.
