This is the 2011 Veramonte Neyen Espiritu de Apalta from Colchagua Valley. I’ve asked Delectable to add it.

This was my best wine and best red Chilean wine I had in 8 days of tasting 12 different producers.

On the nose; dark ruby, ripe, currants, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum with strawberries on the edges, dark rich, semi-sweet soil, black licorice, very light herbal notes, light black pepper, leather, sweet tarry notes, vanilla, cinnamon, core of anise, sweet loamy top soil, dry stems with dark fresh, perfumed florals and violets.

On the palate, the body is round and full. The tannins are round and velvety. Dark ruby, ripe, currants, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum with strawberries on the edges. Dark rich, semi-sweet soil, black licorice, very light herbal notes, light black pepper, leather, dry crushed rock powder, tobacco leaf, vanilla, sweet tarry notes, cinnamon, core of anise, sweet loamy top soil, dry stems and dark fresh, elegant, perfumed florals and violets. The acidy is fresh, round and excellent. The long, ripe, ruby, elegant, well balanced, sexy, finish is drop dead gorgeous and lasts minutes.

Photos of; a side view from their entrance that shows the Chilean flag, coastal mountain range, the start of fall colors and their Estate vines. Branded wood carved bench, foxtails in bloom and their beautiful pound on the front grounds.

Wow! Deep purple color, full bodied, explosion of flavors. One of the best I have tried from Chile.

I tasted this wine at Casablanca wineyard in January, 2017. I liked the Carmenere/Cabernet blend, price at wineyard was $19.00.
