The Puzzle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Going to need to hold these for a few more years, the 2019 still needs some time.
Graphite dominates the palate. Lots of tobacco and vanilla too. The fruit just isn’t there. Tannins are super strong, lots of English breakfast. Medium acidity. It’s really tasty, but I suggest letting it rest.

Pouring this out is a joy as the aromas just immediately fill the room - a bouquet of scents. Chocolate, cigar, vanilla, and a ton of blackberry pie and baking spices Smells delicious. The color is a dark garnet, borders of red. Strong, large body with big tannins. Beautiful mocha and blueberry flavors. More of the vanilla. Loving this.

Dec 1st, 20232016 vintage, too good to age, but I wish I could. Cabernet Franc stands out. Great blend and always a treasure to drink.

Dec 19th, 2019The main event of a fabulous Christmas dinner of Beef Wellington prepared and cooked by a gourmet Brazilian chef and family member. This Boudeaux style red labeled “Puzzle” is produced in the prestigious Newton Spring Mountain district of Napa. Its name “Puzzle” so aptly describes this wine because it’s so vibrant in the mouth with tastes of currants, wild berries, nutmeg, earth, dark chocolate, leather, tobacco and ripe plum that one doesn’t know where to begin. Deep garnet in color, with intoxicating aromas of berries and coffee, perfectly balanced, textured yet silky smooth tannins and velvety long legs one doesn’t know how to describe it other than saying it is a wonderful “Puzzle”. My remaining bottles are going back in storage not to be touched for another five years. 14% alc/vol
