Decanted for three hours. Smells like tar, roses, camphor, operating room (weird, I know). On the palate it’s tart dark fruit and minerals. These could still use time.

Sep 25th, 2018Certainly nice and easily drinkable, but “thin” compared to more mature Barolos. We’ll see if I can stash a couple bottles away for a few years and try it again

Dec 27th, 2023Strikingly ruby with a wide brim and cherry undertones. Aromas of strawberries, vanilla beans, herbs, spices, and fresh cut flowers. About as classically Barolo as you can get. Obviously very young, this can sit for at least another few years. As it is, this is still tight but after an hour the youthful fruit takes over. On the palate, more delicious red fruit, oak, smoky cloves, that gorgeous Old World leather, and nice spice. Very well structured, save this one for a while.
