Cuvée 128 Anderson Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Pale yellow, excellent clarity. Crisp to tart. Pineapple and pear flavors, grapefruit finish. Nice blend of flavors, cries out for pairings with food

Oct 7th, 2022Light yellow green, excellent clarity. Straw, matchstick (briefly) and cantaloupe notes in nose. Citrus and stone fruit flavors with a hint of apple, melon, lime peel and mineral finish. Fairly crisp, dry but fruity, great with food. Nice varietal character as well. With time, a white floral, almost aldehydic note emerges in the nose.

Sep 21st, 2020Light yellow with a tinge of green, excellent clarity. Pineapple note in nose. Citrus, pineapple flavors with a hint of peach, slightly tart, almost spritzy. Meyer lemon and mineral finish with slight to moderate skin astringency. Later, slight leesy creaminess emerges.

Apr 15th, 2019An older vintage I rescued from the clean out bin at my local wine shop. Not Anderson Valley but Mendocino on label, but it is Cuvée 128. Light yellow in color, excellent clarity. Dry grass, stone fruit, citrus and sage (?) notes in nose. Peach, apricot, lemon and grapefruit zest flavors with length into the aftertaste, mild to moderate astringency across center of tongue, lactic finish. Rounded mouthfeel. Soft but good acidity, well balanced. A tad rough in the tannins initially, but complex, solid varietal character, lovely to sip once the tannins soften up. The cool temperatures of Mendocino show well here, with no signs of it aging badly. A shame I only found the one bottle. Let it open an hour.
