Napa Cellars
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This one was fun. Upon opening the bottle, there was notably little aroma. Even after pouring, the nose gave little. Only after the first couple swirls did fruit appear as I expected from the get go. LET THIS ONE BREATHE a little. Once it was open, I got Blackberry Jam, Black Currant, and Fig. There is a sweetness to it that follows through, the tannins are soft(er) or just really well balanced. It follows with a Mocha Cocoa and Nutmeg. Ending with something on the breath, Eucalyptus? Food brought this out more. I loved it.

Oct 31st, 2020Herbaceous notes of mint, eucalyptus, rosemary, blackberry compote. Opens up nicely after an hour. Would do well with another year or two.

May 2nd, 2019Mediocre at best. Maybe aging for a few years will help - maybe. Very “herby” and lots of acid/alcohol taste up front; even after a long decant. Not much depth. Better options out there for the same price or slightly more (Sterling, Decoy, to name a couple).
