A rare Cali meritage that is well-blended and structured to my taste. Dark ruby color, slightly fruity (berry) - not over the top. Long-ish finish for a young wine. Nicely vinted and blended! Well done!

The Spur is an inky dark wine with an explosively earthy nose. Big black fruit - plums, cassis - are met with dense forest floor and sage notes. The palate is equally blessed, with an easy touch on the oak, a lively acidity and gentle tannins. Herbal flavors include white and bell pepper and a hint of rosemary.

I’ve started seeing quite a bit of this winery on Delectable as of late, and @Jason Oliver does a great job of being an ambassador for them. He informed me of a killer deal they had going, so I snagged a 3-pack.

Robbie Meyer (of Del Dotto, Pierson Meyer) became the full time winemaker in 2015. The Spur is their red blend and really is an awesome value for Livermore Valley. Bordeaux varietals + petite sirah. Super dark in the glass. Nose is full of herbs, crushed blackberries, graphite. I thought it would be super heavy on the palate due to the color, but it was soft. Easy to pick up the petite sirah in this with the spice and pepper on the finish. Tart and spicy fruit too like rhubarb. Smokiness and cedar wood. Looking forward to the merlot and Malbec I have.

@Jason Oliver very proud of you for your dedication to med school which has to be tough and for introducing Rhonda and I to this wonderful blend of finesse and structure all at the same time

Don’t get mad but did not decant but paired perfectly with the rolled wrapped sirloin with stuffed six cheeses and sun dried pesto and salmon combo we grill with some artichokes, tomatoes and asparagus- prefect in every way

It just kept getting better - I am impressed - for the money this is a 9.5 and if I am ever at a restaurant and this is on the menu I will absolutely acquire

Rhonda liked it so much she wants some for her tennis team when they celebrate as thinks this drinks like much more expensive wine so bravo for the bottle and intro - all smiles tonight!!!

Dark and rich earth flavors. Very well balanced with good finish. It’s from Livermore not Australia!

샌프란시스코에서 스테이크를 맛나게 하는 와이너리에서 생산하는 와인이라고 들음. 와인 자체는 많이 드라이 했던 기억

Smooth taste, rich in fruity flavor. On the sweeter side but not overly so. Great wine for a dinner party/gift

Great blend of Cab, Petite Syrah and merlot. Figs, blackberries with white pepper. Smooth mouthfeel of a merlot with the spice of Syrah. Great for price.
