Not extremely fluent in South African whites.... This Chenin Blanc fluttered with an array of honey, apricot, and subtle oak. Perfect summer white.

2011. Fantastic. Pear and orange zest with a good dolt of honeysuckle.

Textbook Chenin Blanc (Steen). Stone fruit, honey, hint of white pepper...a little slippery and tart for me. Didn't pair well with salmon roe.

2011 vintage.

If it looks like a California chardonnay, smells kinda like one and tastes kinda like one, it may be South African chenin blanc. The only difference was a chamomile character as well as a day old hefeweizen yeastiness. Aged for 5 months in 20% new french oak.

This wine is in a great place, cheese rind, nice acid, slight white flower presence. And just a crazy value for the price.

A bit reductive, but that being said: waxy, floral, honeyed/honeycomb, kerosine, peach and melon on the nose. Odd mouthfeel, light/yet heavy, maybe more soft (less acidity) and full (alcohol), with kerosine, white peach, star fruit, caramel (age/reductive), and herbs. Interesting wine.

A bit on the hot end. Acid very noticeable. Still pretty darn good

Aromas of white peach, lilies, just a hint of mineral. Dry, low acid.
