After enjoying Muirwood's single vineyard cab so much this was a bit of a dud. Perhaps it's just not my style of Pinot - or the clones they're using - but it just didn't have that nice fruitiness I look for. Thin in the glass with fairly interesting earth notes on nose. It paired alright with my coq au vin, but I had hoped for better. It did, however, go quite nicely with some after dinner aged cheddar.
Edit: came back to this one in the third day and found a completely different wine. Finally I could taste that cherry cola and berry notes, but still with a touch of smoke and earth. I would give this one another dry, but with a bit of decanting next time. Rating adjusted.

Jan 4th, 2018Light, some brighter fruit, good tannins, some oakiness going on...in the back end I actually get some of that cherry cola I've read in the reviews. Neat. There's a little vanilla coming through with the oak as it opens. Happy pinot noir day, kiddies!
