From a north inclined slope in marine sediment soils, the Dijon clone 96 Chardonnay planted in 2008 at Loubejac is extremely interesting - it is poised to have higher acidities at optimal sugar and physiological maturity. The non-irrigated and organically vines at Loubejac are south of Monmouth, almost halfway to Corvallis. This is the Willamette Valley. The 2016 is wide open, forward, floral and vibrant aromatically before coiling up on the palate, flintyand mineral. Native yeasts fermented the wine, only additive was sulfur. Aged one year in third fill and old wood, and a half year in steel, on the lees. Minimal stirring and full malo took place and the wine was bottled unfined/unfiltered. 58 six pack and 18 magnums produced.
