Nothing like a typical pinot. It’s brash and bombastic. We just started a Malaysian curry, and it’s blunted our palates. Nose presents sandalwood and hints of nutmeg. There’s also a freshness to it. Palate is caressing and sexy. For a pinot, it presents an unusual weight and volume. Finishes with power and poise.

Big, bold and expansive. Heavily extracted and full throttle. Built like the winemaker...

Deep ruby red in appearance. Rich nose with notes of black cherries, spices, black cherries, bark and some minerality. Solid acidity and tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Rich palate with red and black fruit, cinnamon, vanilla and herbs. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028.

Our go-to producer these days is Morgardo. Never disappoints. Very opulent nose of kirsch, overripe cherries and a hint of blueberries.
The palate is intense and delineated. Made us think of melted chocolate in terms of texture. It’s powerful, especially since it tips the scales at 15.3% abv. This is a full-throttle, no holds barred, luscious Cali pinot. Not one for the traditionalists...
BTW, that’s my Parmesan encrusted chicken. Damn I’m good 🙂

We love this expression of pinot. Texture, depth and layers in spades. Cinnamon on the nose and palate, complimented with cassis and dark berry fruits. This is muscular and powerful. Stunning.
