Montes Reserva Valle Central Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
I am sensing that quince note that seems to be a common trait of Chilean cabernet wines, along with cassis and a bit of gun powder and smoke too. It smells a bit more serious that recent chilean cabernets that I had which were more fruit-forward. The palate is well done, drier and more tannic than in my previous encounters. Great cassis note, good width, dusty tannins, long finish, that drying layer, nice bitter notes, some umami meaty notes. All of that for about 13 USD in equivalent local currency. That's actually a bargain here 👍🏻
