Montes
Limited Edition Colchagua Valley Syrah
Excellent. Starts with a damp basement nose. Perhaps hints of green pepper. Notes of mushroom, cherry, and deep berry. Smooth mouthfeel, slightly tannic. Nice!

Sep 7th, 2019Amazing Syrah. So smooth, deep bodied and aromatic. Montes vineyards is one of my favorite vineyards in Chile and this one despite being their lowest grade Syrah does not disappoint.

Very drinkable but for this producer just ok. Usually see a lot more finesse from Montes. Nice fruit with typical new world Syrah flavor profiles. Unfortunately, heavy handed new oak got in the way of a pretty good thing. Actually picked up from TJ's for a great price and would probably get again.
