An opaque garnet, the '09 Montes Cabernet Sauvignon 'Classic Series' is loaded with red currant, tobacco, pepper and earthy aromas. A noticeable vegetal quality put a damper on the fruit flavors in the mouth. Medium-bodied with a decent length. This one definitely needs some fatty meat to soften the sharp tannins.
