1 person found it helpfulJan 14th, 2016The nose bursts and fills the room with strawberry and spiced dark cherry aroma. The palace pops with a dense fruit forward and mild spiciness. I would have thought it was primarily a Zinfandel but the label says no - it only has Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The finish is moderately long and well balanced. I lean towards more earthy old world earthy profiles and this is a much more new world fruit forward wine than I prefer.

Oct 1st, 2024This vintage if the Meritage style blend didn’t amaze me like recent years. It’s good on opening and has a dense dark fruit and spice nose. Merlot/Cab Sauvignon/Malbec/Petit Verdot. The palate is spicy dark fruits of plum, some cherry, blackberry and a hint of blood orange and a bit of leather and tobacco. But something seemed off for me. I then read the tasting notes and they suggested notes of goat cheese - I hate goat cheese! - mystery solved! The overall experience from start to long finish was a nice balance of juicy acidity and soft tannins.

Jul 5th, 2023I must reward consistency. Another delightful year of their Meritage style blend. This year it’s a different blend of Merlot, Malbec, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. Lovely nose with complex fruit and spice flavors, mouth watering acidity, and smoothness throughout with just enough tannins for a pop and a pleasant lingering finish. So drinkable on opening!

Mar 13th, 2021Return to a well balanced quality wine after an off 2015 vintage. Great floral nose. Smooth bold fruit forward palate with mouthwatering acidity and with mild lingering tannins. Very pleasant uncommon blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot

Dec 10th, 2020Very nice but not as strong as the 2014 for the price.

Dec 20th, 2018Smooth Meritage blend. Pleasant forward nose. Well balanced and multiple layers of taste. Mild lingering finish. Tried a multiple year flight at the winery and the 2014 was so much smoother than earlier years. Just finished a bottle at home and just as good.
