Mosel Slate Spätlese Riesling
Riesling attack! Still trying to wrap my head around these guys - this one is a bit sweeter than I'm used to, wine soda, but I imagine thats a shortcoming of my palette and not this wine, which has some pretty great fruit and minerals behind it.

1 person found it helpfulJul 10th, 2014A mineral Spatlese that is pronounced with much lemon, green apple and tropical fruit and melon. Uncompromising minerals through the whole tasting process. Medium lemon green with much small bubbles. High acid and sweet, very delicious and saliva-dripping. Lively and refreshing however with round body. Good desert wine. Medium+ finish. 89 points. Can be aged for 5 years. Tasted in Beijing, Nov.5th

Jun 28th, 2014throughly enjoyable, but at $24 it would get lost in the crowded field of great rieslings in its price category.

Oct 24th, 2013A few problems with this wine for me. Why not mention its a single vineyard (Erdener Treppchen)? And at ~$24, its frankly overpriced. It is a good Spätlese, but not particularly exciting. Many others in this price range show far more sense of place and structure.

Apr 20th, 2021Has that petrol note that German Riesling is known for. Just enough residual sugar to balance out the acidity. Really nice.
