Extremely dark and brooding on the nose with notes of tar, leather, earth, and smoke (smoked meat?) with a touch of black fruit showing through as it begins to open. Full-bodied and spicy on the palate with bright acidity. Bright, black fruits lead to soft tannins and notes of leather, spice, earth and a touch of tar. The finish is long a smooth with a touch more juicy fruit. Extremely complex and dark, I think the majority of the indigenous Callet plays a major influence on the wine. Pairs well with smoky, spicy chorizo.
