The most affordable stagecoach wine? Delivers a very respectable flavor profile. Its young and needs time. Old school in structure. Dry tannins.

Tonight was the 38th Big Taste of Fort Worth in honor of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Great wines and phenomenal food pairings. Went through about 25 wines tonight, so I'm only highlighting my favorites.

This was my first Miner, and it was a head scratcher. Obviously I gave it a nice rating, but it was a wine I kept thinking about all night because it seemed so different. Would have never guessed Napa Cab '13. Almost a sweet cranberry juice finish. Smokey and meaty upfront...Syrah like. But, the wine was lighter bodied. This is one I'll need to keep thinking on...

A bit overly tannic upfront, masking what seems like quality fruit. Nice long finish with mocha and espresso notes is the eventual payoff. Not sure if aging will eventually mellow this out.
