Napa Valley Cabernet Franc

2012 Franc is fantastic. Lavender, briery blacks and soft tannins.

Perfect CF from mountain, volacanic gravel soil. Thick skin and tiny fruit. Spicy on the nose nut silky on the palate.

Light and fruity - not normally what I expect for a Syrah. Bright red fruit. Easy to drink.

We performed a blind tasting of Miner Family vs Repris 2012 Cabernet Franc. Both are excellent with those tasting who like tannins enjoyed the Miner & those who enjoy smoother jam like texture preferring Repris.

Decanted for 40 minutes and drank over two hours. Stunning. Medium-plus tannins, a little chalky in a good way... maybe that’s the clay note people say. Bright fruit on the nose. Cherry, caramel, spice, and a floral/grassy hint. Leathery finish. The longer we went, picked up red apple and orange zest. LOVED it.

Earthy, red cherry rinse. Washes over your mouth with incredible structure, tannins, and finish. Pure. And a pure joy.

Miner's 2012 Cab Franc is beautiful. We had it at a members tasting event in LA and had to order for ourselves.

Napa's take on the acidity of eastern US wines. I dig it. Almost Italian in style.
