Mikkeller
Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Imperial Oatmeal Stout
Treacle, blackstrap molasses, tar, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, black raisin, medjool dates, myrrh, ganache, opium-coffee, and ginseng scented. Amorphous mouthfeel, runs from thick and round to acid-buoyed on the end of a floral stalk. Dark brown sugar without the sweet, fig, clove, allspice, a little Nuóć Mam, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg and gingerbread. This is mouthcoating breakfast fare begging for luxardo cherries or lingonberries, spicy sausage, rye toast, and smoky paprika. Gotta give it to the civet!

Jul 24th, 2019Best in class. As a fan of Founder's Breakfast Stout, this beer checks all the boxes and is the new king of the category. If only I could have this for breakfast everyday....
Whatever you've heard about this beer, it's better than that.

I'm giving this a 10, because I can't imagine anything better. I'll leave it to the beer gurus to parse this more finely than I ever could.

Sep 20th, 2015This is the San Diego brewed variety. Unfortunately it makes no mention of the venerable civet, but it still tastes fantastic. Very highly carbonated in the can resulting in a large, unavoidable, stable head.

Feb 7th, 2017Sometimes they pour you a dark mug of liquid lunch and you are surprised by how light and fruity a porter can be. And then you realize that you ordered the Brunch Weasel Oatmeal Stout at Mikkeller, and dense, coffeecake richness punches you in the mouth. At 10.5% abv, this Norwegian craft brew has all the decadence of your champagne brunch, but darker, denser, and screaming for a scoop of ice cream.

Aug 29th, 2015Among the best imperial stouts out there. Amazing bright fruit and acidity from the civet coffee in combination with all of the deep toffee and prune flavors one expects from a quality imperial stout. Very slight bitterness from a burnt sugar finish.
