Michel-Schlumberger (Benchland Wine Estate)
La Révolution Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Nice balanced Cabernet - perfect with grilled prime rib and the salt air of the coast.

Nov 24th, 2015Disappointing. No structure. Limited flavor which has you noticing the alcohol almost immediately. This will be the one I leave out for the late night guests when they've gone through the good stuff.

Aug 16th, 2015A WTSO special, I'm glad I spent $20, instead of the normal $50 for this 750 ml container of black pepper. Maybe the 2012 is a bit too young right now but it tasted like straight pepper mill. Thoroughly disappointed for something that was rated a 93 point wine by reputable critics and 94 by WTSO members. (2012 Vintage)

Feb 12th, 2015Almost back with magenta notes, full bodied. Creme de cassis, cherry and a whiff of va on the nose. Starts soft and velvety with cassis and blueberry notes that touch on cedar and astringency by mid, where they're also met by a slightly metallic and off acidity that carries through the hot finish. Missing some of the suave oak and bourbon, along with a denser fruit profile that make a Sonoma cab for me. But for the price it's a phenomenal Monday night prize.
