Les Pezerolles Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Nose starts out pretty reduced but under that is a core of dark cherries, spice and minerals but this needs mega air to get there.
Palate is very backwards but super promising with sweet red and black cherries and noble Pezerolles structure and depth. Wonderful length and complexity but this needs mega mega air. I will be back. Very concentrated and very sappy and very long. This will be a much higher score once it comes into its own.

The kid has made it big. Perfumed. Long. Stoney, elegant and sweet fruited. Really compelling. Was the star of the trio.

Feb 24th, 2022An epic epic Pezerolles. Unreal nose. Superbly floral and just so gorgeous. Red cherry, black cherry, floral again, hint of licorice. So stunningly fragrant. Just bright and lifted. Palate is just oozing with gorgeous pure fruit. Red fruit driven with a black fruit edge to it. Sappy and so complete. What a long finish. Stoney aromas after some air. Palate has melty tannins that are so fine. Seems a bit closed initially but the super long finish makes me think this has more to say. 9.3 for now. I’ll be back.
This opened up after air end a day and became much more integrated. It’s a big wine in need of age but a smokeshow. 9.3 to 9.4 but with age will be 9.6

What a wine. I love the Rebourgeon version of this wine. Super stoney nose. Just killer. Cherry pastille. Deep, loaded with terroir. Gorgeous subtlety and detail. Unfolds. So good. Terrific structure and sweetness. Elegant, tannic and tight. Insane depth here as some think Pezerolles is better than Rugiens. It’s a good debate. Terrific inner mouth aromas and such power and definition. Extraordinary concentration and purity. Perfect balance between tannin, acid and earthiness balanced with sweet fruit. Long finish. So palate staining. Awesome. Will open up with air. Amazing wine.

Jul 16th, 2020Classic Pezerolles. Stoney, surreal and layered. Just gorgeous. Tightest out of the gates so far. So floral. Gorgeous lithe elegant and ephemeral cherries. Cherry flower. Sick nose. Licorice and flowers. Just amazing. Juicy and complex with stunning intensity and finesse. Stoney throughout. Gorgeous elegance allied with sweet fruit and all on a silken string. So juicy with great breadth and depth also so so so long. Stunning. Ripe and Stoney tannins. Such a wonderful Pezerolles.

Nose is gorgeous cherry lipstick As this opens almost this Burgundian Muskiness. Oh. My. May be fucktastic. ... yes it will be.
Palate is fresh cherry fruit. So juicy. Mineral. Dense. Cherry extract. $500 cherry liquor.
Much more classically burgundy than his other wines.
Needs 18 months. Will be very good.
