Les Epenottes Beaune Pinot Noir

Gorgeous, high-toned nose of raspberry, red licorice, sweet mid-to-late-season cherry, sour cherry, earth and mineral, with tremendous depth and clarity. The palate is concentrated, juicy and beautifully delineated, with that full chord progression of red fruit, huge acidity, remarkable purity and enormous length. Decadent but restrained, dense but refined, with tremendous energy and everything perfectly in place.

Lighter extraction and the lightest color I’ve ever seen from the estate. Huge deviation from the older style. Juicy, clean, elegant, with great fruit, gorgeous tannins and such a light touch. Very wispy.

I adore this bottling and my goodness did William kill 23. Gorgeous nose of wet earth, peppermint, soppy red and sour cherries, and my goodness like 4D limestone. William has arrived. This is a 9.6 nose. Pre tariffs and weak dollar this was $41!! My goodness this nose is legend. Just stunning. Juicy and so pure. Unreal balance and tangy red fruits and brilliantly framed oak. So pure. Unreal elegance. Just tremendous. Such crunch and energy. What a beauty. Such freshness. Let’s see what air does but this is a 9.5. The nose got insane with air. Like an insane floral bouquet.

Gorgeous nose that is primary and grapey with some bright mid to late season cherry and a hint of reduction that will blow off. Now some raspberry sweet cake and a hint of cocoa add alluring complexity. Reduction already blowing off. But still needs hours to become fully aromatically expressive. Palate is so clean, so juicy and so precise with crystalline fruit that just crackles and is ripe. Wow. This is amazing. I think I sold for $42. Unreal finish and super cleansing minerality. Lovely amplitude in the mid palate and just thrilling fruit. With air the fruit is sweetening up and it has terrific inner mouth aromas and a confectionary quality on the palate when you swish. Amazing wine. Almost 9.5.
