Syrah
Drank 2/18/29.
Nose of brambly black fruits, underbrush, smoke, and some black cherry. Rich, fruit driven palate, with black cherry liquer, blackberry, forrrest floor, and some medium tannins to lend structure. A style that will have fans in both the new world and old world arenas. Perhaps a bit quick on the finish. I would mistake this for a GSM blend rather than pure syrah.
An outstanding value at around $16.
3/23/7/4/2 + 50 = 89 pts.

Definite smell of bacon on the nose.. Some dark blueberry and sweet cherry as it opens up in the glass. Crazy velvety smooth mouthfeel with just a touch of spice on the finish. Nice wine but I'd never know it's a Syrah.

What I liked about this one though was that it didn't have a high astringency or any heavy gamey notes. Instead it was bountiful in dark ripe fruits, had richness, power, and yet was silky finishing in choco finesse with a lingering pepper spice.

Feb 4th, 2017All my points go to originality. Very dark but dry, not fruity medium to full bodied wine. Smoky flavor, almost like whiskey? Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the quality & uniqueness.
