Meritage Monticello Cabernet Franc Blend

Treat it with a light hand, which is what worked for me. I thought it would probably be well beyond it’s prime and it’s not.

Won Silver in the 2014 Gov's Cup.
Fantastic blending of Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Cab Franc.
Intense aromas of dark cherry integrated with hints of toast, tobacco, and prune. Was absolutely wonderful.

Smokey and quite ripe.

In its prime and gorgeous. Opens like a rose in bloom. Ripe, approachable, and with substantial depth. The Petit Verdot shines in the finish and rounds everything out to a "T". To my humble opinion, this 2007 Meritage is the Standard bearer, for reds, for the entire Commonwealth of Virginia.

An amazing vintage for Virginia. High quality fruit. Lingering pepper on the nose. Softened texture but still very broad

Wonderful golden color, great acidity, not much nose.
