Time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. Here is a delicious one from Lodi, California.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, plums, dried figs, smoke, spices, chocolates, mocha, dark coffee, spices, vanilla, wood and peppercorn.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, peppercorn and leather.

Medium plus in finish with soft tannins and black pepper.

This Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon is always delicious. Well balanced, complex and interesting. Rich and extracted with a great mouthfeel.

Good by itself or with food, like a big piece of BBQ steak.
Good for parties or as a sipping wine.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Nice and big and rich slight spice on the finish and peppery. Probably falls apart when it has air.

Round tannins that really envelope the tongue. Smooth as can be with ripe black cherries.

Tasty and fruity. Definitely can see the bold fruit flavor expression of this Lodi wine. Very easy drinking!

Tastes like loam, maple syrup, woody. Not as smooth as I like, but I'll let it breathe a bit. 2012 vintage.

Hard to beat for a 16 dollar bottle of wine. The word "juice" comes to mind, but I've had 25 dollar bottles that weren't as good.

Crimson in color, touch of tobacco on the nose and full bodied on the palate. Quite a punch, no shortage of bold, acidic, fruit flavor. Tannic on the finish with some heat and a gin of oak. Overall, this wine surprised me in quality... But if labels are an accurate indicator, is does taste how you'd expect based on the visually busy label.
