Massive wine, midnight in color, with tons of fruit including unmistakeable waves of raisin and black cherry. Huge chocolate and mocha coffee flavor with a big tannic finish. At 15%, this wine is a challenge, but one that I'm up for.

Toasty oak and baking spices on the nose. Elegant palate brings black cherry, anise, black pepper, oak and spice. It develops a deep milk chocolate character after a few hours of air. Well balanced acidity, round structured tannins with medium body and a silky mouthfeel. Warm lasting finish with subtle vanilla mocha notes.

Boysenberry and blackberry, heavy spice, black pepper. Oak is there. Medium to heavy tannins. Would be wonderful with bbq, especially ribs.

Purplish-black color. Aromas of chocolate, smoke, anise seed, and really ripe black cherry. The flavors are all mocha and milk chocolate, and the acidity and tannins are modest. The wine's choco-mocha is a curiosity, and quite fatiguing after a half a glass. 15.5% abv | $26 (sample)

Not sure this holds its alcohol as well as past vintages. Some odd astringent notes on nose and palate.
