N. Rhone for a fraction of the price. Great density, moderate tears. Black raspberry nose & a little violet. Plenty of black pepper on forefront. Smooth black berry fruits and mild tannins. Wish it was a tad less weighty on palate.

Paired with BBQ chicken quite well. Soft initial impression, slight pepper and tobacco with balanced tannins for smooth finish. More structured character after 20-minute decant, btw.
