This is a very tasty red blend from Napa Valley.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black and red fruits, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Nice finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime, when tannins and structure come in.

Still young and would be better in the next 5 to 10 years.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. A good wine to pair with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Cabernet Franc, 12% Petite Verdot, 9% Touriga Nacional, 2% Syrah, 5% Merlot and 2% Syrah. A small production of 10 barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a nice and easy drinking one.

Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of black plums, currants, oak, light vanilla, spices, dark chocolates, peppercorn, herbs, tobacco leaf and black licorice.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, cherries, light oak, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, earth, light black tea and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious and spicy red blend from Napa Valley. A good sipping wine.

Already showing nice complexity and mouthfeel, but still young and would be better in 3 years.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. Really nice nose after an hour of airtime.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Spicy and interesting. Fruity and easy drinking. I had it all by itself.

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Syrah and 10% Petite Verdot. Aged in French oak barrels. Bottled in January 2021. A small production of 10 barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

For this week's #MerlotThursday I opened a very nice red blend from California. Merlot is not the dominant grape here, but it works for me 😉

Pretty color of purple with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blueberries, black plums, black currants, vanilla, cedar, licorice, Indian spices, dark coffee, light tobacco, pencil lead and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with currants, black cherries, blueberries, wood, cloves, vanilla, spices, espresso, dark chocolates, peppercorn, leather and tobacco.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very young red blend from Napa Valley, and it is already tasty. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.

Easy drinking, light and airy. Tangy and interesting. Good by itself or with food. I gave it an hour to open up.

Showing good potential, and would benefit from 3 to 5 years in the bottle to further mature and get more complex.

This Non Vintage was bottled in 2019.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 20% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 14% Syrah, 5% Petite Verdot and 1% Malbec. Aged in (30% New) French oak barrels. A small production of only 180 cases.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

I taste you, Cab Franc. It's quite bold but needs some time to mellow out
