Not sure if I’ve had this one before, but I’ve had some other McManis wines I liked. Cool label with a Lodi area painting. ‘Certified Sustainable’ & ‘Certified Green’! Deep dark color. Almost completely opaque. Smells good. Like fresh black berries, black cherry syrup and wood oil. A hint herbal as well. Flavors are complex and fairly ‘big’. Not really ripe though. More brooding and herbaceous. This is a great CA Merlot. Has funk, it’s dry, the herbs give it character. Oak is in balance. Excellent. Steal of a deal as well.
