McKahn Family Cellars
Rose of Grenache
I’m between 91-92 here. I followed this over two days and it stayed consistent. Would probably see slight improvement maybe with another year?
Blush pink in the glass…not sure I’ve seen a rosé so pink before! Being Grenache, you definitely get some spiced red fruit aromatics and more of the same on the palate. Very floral. This has a steely vibe to it that makes it extra fresh. Tart tangerine, underripe white peach, melon and plenty of crushed rock/limestone type minerality on the finish. I found this best around cellar temp…too cold makes this too racy.

WOW!!!! This is the first wine of this type that I LOVE!!!!!! My wife and I love this as our refreshing beverage after a long day at work, at the pool, or just a before starting our day on a Weekend morning!!! It is so light and tasty. It is so refreshing!!!!! You must try this wine. The Rose of the Grenache! WOW!!!!
McKahn Family Cellars!!!!!!!!!! I am so ordering a case of this. Only 13% abv. Okay: loads of fresh ripe strawberries and raspberries on the nose and palate. The initial palate explodes with crisp Strawberries, cherries, and elderberry. It is so delicate yet crisp. It is so refreshing if you’re not careful you could drink a whole glass like it’s water. Most of these wines are way too sweet for my pallet, but this one is dry, beautiful, crisp, and just amazing I could really get in trouble with this, and I’m a big bold cab guy. The finish is so delicate. I promise you I just turned up the bottle and had another sip!

Sep 6th, 2020Light to medium bodied Rosé all day. But this wine can definitely hold its own and did very well with a home cooked meal of fried chicken tenders. This wine actually needed a little bit of time as it was muted immediately upon cork pop and definitely benefited from warming up to near room temp. Light pink in the glass. Strawberry and stone ground raspberry. Finished with a little bit of herbal quality. A really nice wine for a 105 degree summer day, as I'm sure we will have many of them this year. I think this wine is as close to 93 as you can get, and the price for this wine made by a rather unappreciated winemaker makes this an insane QPR.
