McDowell Syrah

Talk about an accidental sleeper that turned out killer. Still showed rich dark fruit underscored by leather and tobacco and spice. Totally surprising. #latervino

Still bright and fruity, with savory smoked meat and a hint of back pepper, and enough grip to hold it together. A very pleasant surprise.

Simple but clean brambly fruit with traces of soy sauce oxidation more noticeable on the nose than the palate where there is plenty of sweet fruit remaining. Past its peak, but still pleasant and worth drinking.
