This has so much friggin complexity for the modest $22 price point. For the Barolo fan and Barbaresco fan alike, this Nebbiolo over-delivers. The nose is so lovely and quite seductive - spiced dark chocolate, red licorice, cinnamon, brown sugar and clove. The palate is round but focused, high-toned cherry, floral notes, and more cinnamon baking spice. This is a stud.

A couple of nostrils full of licorice and horehound.

Medium bodied wine that is alive with herbs - hyssop, horehound, anise, some oil cured olive, touched by the last swoop of a slather berry coulee.
This is a very nice wine, and a great price for a baby Barolo. The oak only finally emerges with the acid at the end, yet the acid is scared away quickly, as if too say winter is here for awhile more.

Plum and dark berries, mocha, pencil led, charcoal, and forest floor on the nose. Palate is dark, tannic, with black berry and tar. Needs air or a little more time. American oak influence is noted here with a new world style. Firm and slightly bitter on the finish, medium in length.

Flavors of cherry, black pepper and minerals with moderate but well rounded tannins and good acidity.

Excellent value. A cheaper younger barolo.

For those of us who value time, this is great. In the sense that, if you want to try Barolo, but don't have 25 years to wait, this wine is for you. Nebbiolo deliciousness with tannins they are manageable after 45 mins in the decanter.
