Big, fruit-forward and powerful. A bold wine with excellent tannins and nice acidity...it’s drinking well now but definitely had many, many years ahead of it.

Surprising elegance on the palate for being as saturated and alcoholic as it is. Classic dark cherry, leather, cigar box, licorice, balsamic herb notes, dry and dusty tannin. Great fruit purity and spice character. Big, powerful wine with a sensitive side.

Opened about four hours before drinking, which seemed just right; great bouquet; questionable value ($73)

Full and fragrant nose. Took a while to open up, but when it did it displayed lovely bright fruit, tannis, and lively acidity. Give it time.

Contributing to a day led by Clos de laTech Pinot Noir intros, this 2012 Brunello made their grape varietal brethren proud. This is neither Barolo nor Amarone, as myriad participants cannot approach the Golden State Warriors. Still, this offering has much to be proud of.
