First night in our Trulli in Puglia. My brother in law picked this up at a shop in Brindisi. A smashable light red from Campania which you could drink from a kitchen tumbler.

Dark garnet and opaque in color. On the nose cocoa, leather, ripe plum, cigar tobacco, incense, violet, black olives and cherry. Extremely aromatic bouquet which entices you to take a sip. On the a palate is cranberries, black pepper, bell peppers, strawberry and a chalk finish. Pretty high acid with restrained fruit and medium fine tannins it tastes very salty.

Smoke and tobacco on the nose. Sour cherry and plum. Not a ton of depth. Definitely gets softer with an hour or so of decanting.
