Classic, Nebbiolo character, and 2009 richness are all but suffocated by extreme volatility. Even the AM after positive, classic character is marred by unappetizing volatility. Never tasted another Massolino wine like this. Hopefully, this is a bottle issue and not representative of the entire production of this wine.

1hr+ decant, not sure it helped or hurt. Dark red color with browning edges. Smells like an old cellar or closet or wooden box. Rustic with decent tannins. Smooth but short finish. Probably past prime

Excellent post Stelvins Barolo. Not too sweet, but note overly tannic. Cherry. Mild chalk on the tongue. Approachable. Drinking well now.
