Volatile aromas and flavors, with a diluted mid-palate, showing tart cherries and dried herb characteristics, finishing with OK length, but leaving a disappointing impression. You should be able to do much better in such a great vintage.

I love Barolo...especially this time of year. The 2004 Massolino is bright with red fruit and a earthy, tobacco undercurrent. Muscular and silky - as Barolo should be - all at once.

Had the 2004 today on 8 october 2020. Warm brownish colour. Softer tannins. Earthy, leathery, friendly accidity. Ripe dark cherries still there. Long lasting taste. Now great but not convinced it can take a few extra years. Happy to opened it. Drunk it from a Zalto bourgogne glass and a bordeaux. Bourgogne did the job.
